Aviva Community Fund – £5,000 Match Funding Opportunity

3rd March 2026

We are raising £5,000 to help cover the core running costs that keep our advice-at-every-contact model consistent and accessible.

This funding will support our wonderful advice worker team/time during food sessions so help is available at the point of need and to follow-up casework and referrals so issues don’t spiral back into crisis.

This is the backbone of financial wellbeing. It’s what turns an emergency food visit into long-term stability.

We have now been accepted onto the Aviva Community Fund, (see link below) Aviva will match the first pledge made by each supporter to this project, up to £250 per person. That means £10 becomes £20, £25 becomes £50, £50 becomes £100, and £250 becomes £500. This is a real opportunity to double community support.

To give a sense of what donations support:

£10 helps remove barriers to support through follow-up contact and access help

£25 funds a “Money MOT” triage session covering benefits, debt and bill support

£50 supports casework follow-up so families don’t fall back into crisis

£100 contributes towards advice-at-contact delivery

and £250 helps fund specialist advice capacity and is fully matchable.

As one service user shared:

I came for food and didn’t realise help was available. The advice worker helped me sort my benefits and now I can manage each month.”

A volunteer told us,

“I used to come here for support. Now I volunteer and help others find the right services. It’s changed my confidence completely.”

A partner organisation described Narthex as trusted locally, noting that our model doesn’t just meet immediate need, it helps people stabilise and move forward.
